The idea of moving around and possibly getting out of breath can be daunting, but thankfully, there are plenty of great ways to stay active without aggravating your condition. Moderate and regular exercise has been shown to help lessen COPD symptoms and improve your quality of life, so here are five great options for you to explore, so you can stay in shape and breathe easier!

1. Walking

One of the easiest activities, walking doesn’t take any special preparation or equipment. Just put on some comfortable shoes, and enjoy the fresh air.

2. Chair yoga

Stretching is incredibly beneficial for those with COPD, especially stretching the chest, arms, and torso. You can find many short, guided chair yoga classes online, tailored for your skill level.

3. Stationary biking

Cycling can be a fun way to stay in shape, and choosing a stationary bike allows you to remain safe and indoors, reducing your risk of injury. Plus, you can watch television or socialize with friends while doing it!

4. Tai Chi
